Saving the highest score and best result in your reports
It's time to introduce you to our new concept "Sticky Completion"!
When a participant has completed an assignment that allows retaking (for example a quiz, survey or scorm), we have previously reset the result and presented the latest score and result. This means that if a participant has completed a quiz and then retake the quiz, the completion status changes from "Completed" to "In progress".

With our new concept, we will present the highest score and result. This means that if a participant has completed a quiz and then retake the quiz, we will keep the completion status "Completed" and present the highest score (regardless if the participant will get less points in a later attempt).

EXAMPLE:

Attempt 1: Score result is 7 out of 10 points
Attempt 2: Score result is 10 out of 10 points
Attempt 3: Score result is 8 out of 10 points

What we will present from now on:
Score result is 10 out of 10 points.

EU - US Privacy Shield

On 16 July 2020, a ruling from the European Court of Justice immediately invalidated the so-called EU-US Privacy Shield as a legal basis for transferring personal data of EU citizens to servers hosted in the USA. The Privacy Shield was instead replaced with Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

We have ensured that all our sub processors support Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) in their Data Processing Addendums with us. We have also updated our sub processors page, https://learnifier.com/subprocessors

We support WCAG for the learner experience
On 23 September 2020, a new law was introduced by European Court of Justice about Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Legislation in different countries uses the WCAG 2.1 standards as a reference to define how digital content can be made available for persons with disabilities. Learnifier was built from the start to be available, but now we have ticked off even more items on the WCAG 2.1 list.

There are many changes under the hood, here are our top 3 biggest changes:

1. Ability to navigate with the keyboard
2. Easier for text-to-speech to navigate and interpret the content on the page
3. Manage two languages on the same page

Even if the system is WCAG compatible, you are still responsible for the content.

We believe that these are the 4 important things you need to focus on if your company are following these guidelines:

1. Contrast
If you have added your own colors to your platform (by going to the Settings tab and then choose Branding), you need to examine the contrast between background and text. We are already adjusting the text automatically, so that we present black texts on lighter backgrounds and vice versa. But colors can have a poor contrast to both black and white text in the middle segment. For example, use https://contrastchecker.com/ to ensure that your color combination meets the AA standard or higher.

2. Strong colors
Very strong and clear colors can be difficult to look at for a long period of time.

3. Text and video
If you use videos, it is important that you add subtitles or that the videos can be transcribed into text form.

4. Write clear headings
Clear headlines are always nice to have, but it's especially of importance for people who have reading difficulties and impaired short-term memory. For people who navigate with the keyboard and / or use screen readers, it provides an opportunity to jump to different parts of the content.
